On March 30, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian shared a humorous post on X in response to a sneak peek from Intro, a social infrastructure startup that used AI to generate a superhero-style action figure modeled after him.
“I’d get this for my daughters, knowing they would never play with it, but just for the reaction when they see their dad as a little action figure. lol. Please make these IRL,” he said.
The miniature representation captured his likeness and also featured his eldest daughter, Olympia-an adorable touch. But there was one very noticeable absence: baby Adira.
From action figure excitement to an AI-powered oops
Being someone who fully embraces technology, Ohanian has found creative ways to incorporate AI into both his personal and parenting life.
From generating fitness routines to crafting bedtime adventures with ChatGPT, he often leans into innovation. Just last month, he even used ChatGPT to evaluate his personality and praised how accurately it profiled him.
But this time, the tech backfired-at least in the eyes of one little girl. After seeing the AI-generated action figure that didn’t include Adira, Ohanian took to Instagram to set things right. He posted an image of the figure, captioned: “My action figure, according to ChatGPT. Nice. I apparently don’t talk to the AI enough about @adiraohanian – I’m sorry, DeeDee.”
It was a sweet and humorous nod to the real-life dad dilemma of keeping both daughters feeling equally loved. And while Olympia has been more prominently featured in Ohanian’s digital content-likely due to her age and activities-he made sure Adira knew she hadn’t been forgotten.
Ohanian, married to tennis legend Serena Williams, has often spoken about how being a father changed him. In a candid Q&A on Instagram in December 2024, he reflected on his favorite part of parenting daughters.
