Breaking : Brad Pitt’s Mexican GP Appearance Gave Fans Behind The Scenes Look Into F1 Movie
Brad Pitt’s appearance at the Mexican Grand Prix Qualifying session last weekend gave fans a glimpse into the upcoming sports action film, “F1”.
This film is a collaboration between Pitt, director Joseph Kosinski, whose previous work includes the high-paced “Top Gun: Maverick”, as well as seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton who serves as an executive producer.
As eager spectators watched at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, they found themselves watching the film in the making when Pitt emerged from an F1 car, helmet in hand, to an eruption of cheers.
The “F1” movie, starring Brad Pitt as the retired driver Sonny Hhayes, features a plot of redemption and mentorship. After a crash that ended his racing career, Hayes is drawn back to the track by his friend and team owner, played by Javier Bardem.
This once-successful driver is tasked with mentoring a young prodigy, portrayed by Damson Idris, as part of an underdog team that has yet to score a point.
The production began in July 2023 at the Silverstone Circuit and has since moved to various global racing events capturing the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere of Formula 1.
The film demonstrates a strong commitment to authenticity, working closely with the FIA, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, and FIA President Mohammad Ben Sulayem.
Whilst speaking to Sky Sports F1 presenter and former F1 driver Martin Brundle after filming in Silverstone, Pitt commented (below):
“I’m a little giddy right now, I’ve got to say
And it’s just great to be here, man. We’re just having such a laugh, such a laugh. It’s the best time of my life.
“Listen, it’s all been great. I mean, the vibe is amazing, you know that, but just to get to be a part of it in this way, and get to tell our story, and everyone’s been really cool with us.
“All the teams have opened their doors for us, the FIA, Mohammad [Ben Sulayem] has been really helpful. And F1 Stefano [Domenicali], everyone has just been really, really amazing, that we can do this. And it’s going to be really good
