Sean Diddy Combs, famous US music mogul and controversial rapper, was back in federal court in Lower Manhattan on Wednesday for a pretrial hearing. Combs has reportedly lost a lot of weight while behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center, according to a journalist who attended a hearing in his federal sex trafficking case, reported New York Post.
The rapper’s look left everyone stunned as it appeared the heat of the time behind the bars had gotten to the hip-hop artists. Sean Diddy Combs was reportedly seen in a dramatically slimmer frame and visibly grey hair.
Sean Diddy’s health worsening in jail?
Prosecutors told the court they expect to turn over all evidence to the defense by the end of the month. Combs hugged his attorneys as he was led out of the courtroom.
He appeared just astonishingly thinner, which you can expect [from him being] inside a federal detention center for a couple of months now,” Law & Crime reporter Elizabeth Millner said after the hearing.
“A lot different from the luxury lifestyle that he was living before, but he appeared very noticeably thinner and maybe being locked up in detention is starting to wear on him.”
She noted that Combs’ appearance was starkly different from how he looked in a video that surfaced online of him playing hacky sack in Central Park just days before he was arrested on Sept. 16
Millner also noted a change in the disgraced rapper’s hair color, adding, “He appeared grayer a little bit.”
Diddy’s request denied
In another development, on Monday a federal judge denied Diddy’s request for a hearing regarding his claims that the government leaked a video of him allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Sean expressed his wish to get the investigation started on the matter as he argued that the release of the footage was an attempt to harm his reputation.
However, Judge Arun Subramanian denied his plea in light of the insufficient evidence to support the claims. According to the USA TODAY report, the judge wrote – “Combs has not carried his burden to show that the government leaked [the video] to CNN.” It was observed by the judge that none of the evidence supporting Combs’ claim in the alleged leak was persuasive enough to move forward.
Recently Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs faced allegations from Dawn Richard. The artist accused Diddy of manipulating her, promising a career in the field of music, asking for sexual advances, and leaving scars on her mental and physical well-being. Diddy’s legal team has denied all allegations and said that Richard’s timing for filing a laws
uit is nothing but a publicity stunt.
The hearing came after the music mogul dropped his bid to be released on bail ahead of his trial on sex trafficking charges, which is set to begin in May. Attorneys for Combs had repeatedly tried to seek his release on bail, but those attempts were all denied.
Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution charges. If convicted, he could face decades in prison.
Combs is accused of using his business in a criminal enterprise to conceal alleged abuse at sex events dubbed “Freak Offs.”
He’s also accused of sexually abusing and exploiting women for the past 15 years. He is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York City’s only federal jail. It’s the same jail that has held other high-profile inmates including singer R. Kelly and cryptocurrency mogul Sam Bankman-Fried.
