Jason and Travis Kelce often talk about family traditions, food, and celebrations on their podcast New Heights, and the upcoming holiday gave them an easy reason to reminisce.

But the latest episode took an unexpected turn when a fan delivered a bold opinion that struck a nerve with both of them.
The voicemail came from a listener who confessed that turkey is one of the worst Thanksgiving dishes and that they cannot understand why it remains the centerpiece of the meal for so many families.

Considering that the holiday is nicknamed after the bird, it was a striking claim. What followed was even more surprising. Both Jason and Travis agreed.

“This is why I fry a turkey,” Jason said. “It’s hard to eat a turkey unless it’s deep fried and boiled in fat grease.”
He then revealed that the Kelce household did not treat turkey as a sacred holiday standard when they were growing up.

“We purposely would never have turkey. Mom would make pork chops or some other meat,” he added.
