Patrick Mahomes on track to break Tom Brady’s “IMPOSSIBLE” record …See More
Since entering the NFL as the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2017 Draft, Patrick Mahomes has been nothin
Mahomes has been nothing short of impressive. After coming out of Texas Tech, he spent his rookie season behind Alex Smith with the Kansas City Chiefs. After that, he quickly became the team’s – and the league’s – brightest star.
Since then, Mahomes has won two MVP awards, three Super Bowls, and lost two others – one of them to Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers – making it clear that the Chiefs’ No. 15 is well on his way to the Hall of Fame.
Tom Brady, in an astonishing 23-season NFL career, set numerous all-time records: most passing yards, completions, attempts, passing touchdowns, and many more. However, his all-time passing yards record is now under threat – and the challenger is none other than Patrick Mahomes.
Brady threw for 89,214 yards in his career. Matt Velazquez of Bleacher Report suggests that Mahomes may be the one to break that mark.
Mahomes has some advantages, though he’ll need extreme consistency – remember, Brady played until he was 45. We’re now in an NFL era with 17-game regular seasons instead of 16.
It will be a tough road ahead, but among today’s quarterbacks, Mahomes is the only one who realistically has a shot at reaching that legendary milestone.
