During a recent trip to Britain, Prince Harry spoke with singer Joss Stone about her family’s move back from America, expressing his appreciation for British schools and the importance of a close-knit community in raising children.

The conversation happened at the WellChild Awards on September 8, where the Duke appeared genuinely interested in how Stone and her family were adjusting after years abroad.
Stone told Hello! magazine, “He also asked about how we were settling back in and was genuinely interested in our move home. He’s just very warm and down to earth, as always.”

Prince Harry complimented the quality of schools in Britain and emphasized how vital community is for children’s upbringing. Stone added, “He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children.

It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back – for the kids to grow up surrounded by family, friends and a strong sense of belonging and most importantly in a safe environment.”
Recent reports indicate that Prince Harry intends to have his children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, schooled in Britain, a move that might come as a surprise given his current life in California with Meghan Markle.

Stone described Harry as kind and down-to-earth during their meeting, even sharing a playful moment when he joked about her having four children: “‘He joked about me having four children, saying it’s ‘two too many,’ or maybe it wasn’t a joke!'”
While Harry has previously praised life in America, saying, “I enjoy living and bringing my kids up here,” sources close to him reveal a growing concern that his children are missing out on the extended family network enjoyed by their cousins back home. One insider remarked, “Harry wants his children to have the very best education.”

However, this desire clashes with Meghan’s reportedly strong opposition to traditional boarding schools, which she considers outdated and “barbaric.” Family discussions around education continue to be a delicate topic.

Harry’s recent visit also marked a reunion with his father, King Charles, their first in nearly two years. Reflecting on the trip, Harry expressed a wish to spend more time in Britain, saying it had “definitely brought that closer.”
