Travis Kelce might have fancied his chances with Taylor Swift well before the world caught wind of their romance, but a neighbour has spilled the beans claiming the duo were an item way before they hit the headlines together.

After rocking up to one of Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ gigs at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium, Kelce tried his luck by aiming to charm Swift with the hope of handing over his digits post-show.

The NFL megastar made light-hearted comments about wanting to link up with her after her performance to slip her his number. However, he didn’t get the chance to meet her and was informed that Swift doesn’t usually hang around for fan meet-ups.
Kelce quipped: “I received a bunch of [friendship bracelets] and wanted to give her one with my number on it. So she doesn’t meet anyone or at least she doesn’t want to meet anyone, so I took it personal.”
Yet, just a few months later, whispers began to surface that the two were spending time together, sparking gossip that they were an item. This buzz was verified when they made their first public appearance as a couple in September 2023, a mere three months following Kelce’s thwarted bracelet gambit.

But if you ask Wes Bergmann, who lives right next door to Kelce in a Kansas City gated community, they’ve been together much longer than people realised. Chatting with Michele Fitzgerald and Kellie Nalbandian on the RHAP podcast in February, Bergmann revealed he’d been trying to convince everyone for ages that his neighbour was courting Swift.

And I tried to tell this woman (podcast host Fitzgerald) a long time ago ‘they are together, just so you know’ and she didn’t believe it!” chirped the insider with clear glee. “She didn’t believe it, she was like ‘she only goes for artists’ I beat the validating of her showing up to games and stuff by six months.”
