The Hollywood star who shocked fans by insulting Travis Kelce to his face—with Taylor Swift watching…See More
Hollywood actor Josh Charles has revealed a behind-the-scenes moment from the set of Taylor Swift’s music video that involved an unexpected – and blunt – exchange with her now-fiancé, Travis Kelce.
The actor, known for his roles in Dead Poets Society, The Handmaid’s Tale and The Good Wife, appeared in Swift’s 2024 video for Fortnight, a track from her album The Tortured Poets Department. The production also featured fellow Dead Poets Society alumnus Ethan Hawke.
Hawke previously suggested that Charles and Kelce had gotten into a “fight” during filming, but Charles addressed the claim directly while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday.
“A fight? No, he exaggerated this. It wasn’t a fight,” Charles said, before explaining the context behind the interaction.
Charles, a Baltimore native and longtime Baltimore Ravens fan, pointed to the 2023 AFC Championship Game between the Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs as the root of the tension. In that game, Kelce drew attention for his animated pre-game behavior, including disrupting the warmup of then-Ravens kicker Justin Tucker.
The Chiefs went on to win the game 17-10 and later secured their second consecutive Super Bowl title. While Charles acknowledged Kelce’s talent, he admitted the performance changed how he viewed the tight end at the time.
“I’ve always liked Travis Kelce. I just thought he was so cool,” Charles told Fallon. “But that year they beat us in the AFC Championship game – they beat the Ravens – he was a real jerk that year. So I kind of fell off of him.”
