As speculation swirls around what the future holds for Travis Kelce in 2026, the conversation has largely centered on two familiar questions about whether he will retire or stay with the Kansas City Chiefs for another season.
But what has received far less attention is a third possibility that often accompanies elite veterans approaching the end of their careers: the chance of wearing a different uniform.
At 36 years old, Kelce is completing the final season of a two-year, $34.25 million contract with the Chiefs.

Once the season concludes, he is set to become an unrestricted free agent, a status that has historically opened doors for franchise icons to seek new challenges elsewhere.
The most notable example remains Tom Brady, who left the New England Patriots late in his career and won another Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
His longtime teammate Rob Gronkowski followed a similar path, reuniting with Brady in Tampa after years in New England.
